Term 5

In Term 5, we have an exciting and varied curriculum planned for the children. In English, they will be writing a creative and informative piece about the digestive system of an alien, applying a range of Year 4 grammar skills in a fun and imaginative way. Our History learning will focus on the Vikings, and we are thrilled to be welcoming a special artefact box from Maidstone Museum, which will give the children a hands-on experience and bring the topic to life. In Maths, we will be consolidating our understanding of fractions before confidently moving on to decimals.

In DT, children will explore structures by designing and building their own pavilions, while in ICT they will develop their skills using spreadsheets. Music lessons will focus on composing and improvising, allowing children to express themselves creatively. Alongside this, there will be a strong focus on preparing for the upcoming statutory times tables check, helping children build confidence and fluency.

In PSHE, we will be thinking about how our choices can make a positive difference and how we can contribute to groups within the wider community. In RE, we will explore why festivals are important to different communities and what they represent. It promises to be a busy, creative and engaging term for all!
